Can I use a normal regualator instead of the regulator that is provided with Retrofit 1+1 device? What are the possible options that I have and what is the trade off in those options?

No, you cannot use a standard regulator with Retrofit 1+1 and are supposed to use the one provided by us. As the regulator provided by us supports the device, you will be able to control the fan speed with the mobile app and manually change the speed with the regulator. If you choose to use your own regulator, you won't be able to adjust the fan speed manually.
